Antibacterial stamp
What is an ANTIBACTERIAL STAMP?
Keywords: COLOP, Microban, stamp, antibacterial protection
COLOP is the only company in Europe to have received permission to apply antibacterial protection to its PRINTER, EXPERT and CLASSIC series stamps from the American company Microban®.
Every day, each of us touches countless objects and surfaces that harbor all kinds of bacteria and viruses. These bacteria can multiply on an untreated surface in just 20 minutes, and in half a day one bacteria/virus can become up to one million.
It is proven that there are fewer people in the world than there are bacteria on the surface of one human hand.
Each bacterium usually only needs heat and moisture to reproduce. Microban® stamps are therefore specially treated on the surface with 3G Silver™ technology to prevent just this proliferation. Each stamp prevents bacteria such as Listeria, E. coli, Salmonella and S. aureus and MRSA. Each stamp contains the antimicrobial agent Biocide Silver in Phosphate Glass (CAS 308069-39-8), which prevents the formation of germs on the surface of the stamp.
As the Microban protection is integrated into the stamp body during manufacture, it cannot be washed off or degraded in any way. It is a special granulate already in the actual pressing of the stamp machine.
