What is TRODAT?

Trodat-trotec GROUP is a global manufacturer of marking equipment (stamps, laser engraving machines) with more than 35 locations worldwide.
 
TRODAT was founded in 1912 in Vienna by Franz Just and over time has developed into a leader in the field of self-inking stamps and TROTEC laser engraving machines. In 2017, it employed over 1,500 people and had a turnover of around 250 million Euros. Today, the TRODAT Group delivers to more than 150 countries worldwide, with an export share of over 98%.

Did you know that the name of TRODAT has been used since 1960? Twenty years before the name change, it was only the product line TRO-DAT (TRO derived from "trolium"; the material for making stamps and DAT at the time; as a designation for a date stamp). So, export intent and ease of pronunciation gave rise to the name TRODAT in 1960.
